“Feynan, Faynan, Feinan, Finan, Fenan, Fienan, Fanan: many spellings, one magical place”
says the founder of EcoHotels, Nabil Tarazi and he’s not wrong. Like many names in Jordan, the spelling and pronunciation of Feynan can vary from place to place, person to person and over time.
Tonight on Germany's ARD TV network, Feynan is featured as part of a 45 minute special travel programme of Jordan.
The film features lots of different adventure activities in Jordan including staying at Feynan ecolodge, jet skiing in Aqaba, and canyoning in Wadi Mujib. We hosted director Alex Stenzel and his team earlier this year, when they were on the look out for unusual and interesting activities to do in Jordan.
What better way to see everything Jordan's largest nature reserve has to offer than hiking down the magnificent Wadi Dana? Dana Biosphere Reserve is the largest nature reserve in Jordan and is home to an array of wildlife. The Wadi Dana trail is one of the best places in Jordan to spot the Nubian Ibex.
We are excited to announce that National Geographic has announced Feynan Ecolodge as a finalist in their inaugural World Legacy Awards! Feynan has been recognised as a finalist in the Engaging Communities category that recognises the direct economic and social benefits that the lodge brings that improve the livelihoods of local people. The finalists were announced on 29 October at the ITB Asia event in Singapore.

Earlier in 2014, Feynan was excited to host the #OMNITEN group from Colombia Sportswear - a group of outdoor loving adventure people from across the USA who had won an adventure trip to Jordan for a week of #TryingStuff.
Celebrating this year's World Tourism Day the UNWTO (World Tourism Organisation) has released a video sharing stories from people in tourism around the world. The theme is how tourism enriches lives through opportunities. We are thrilled that our guide Mohammad Daifallah has been featured in this short video telling his story about why a job in tourism has been important for him.
We were delighted to welcome the US Ambassador to Feynan Ecolodge earlier this month where we introduced her to our project which provides employment for the local community and preserves the natural environment.
Ambassador Wells visited Feynan to explore the natural landscape, learn about the archaeological history of the area and meet the local people. She's a keen hiker and loved adventuring off the beaten track with our local guides including climbing to a local high point early in the morning to watch the sun rise over the wadi.
Feynan Ecolodge was named as one of the best 10 vegetarian travel destinations worldwide by CNN Travel.
